Free website accessibility checker, against WCAG 2.2 AA
Type an address to check its homepage against the WCAG 2.2 AA criteria a machine can test. You get the failures, what passed, and the checks that need a person with a keyboard and a screen reader.
Free, and only reads what any visitor can see.
What it checks
- Form fields without a label, and buttons or links without a name
- Text with too little contrast against its background
- Images without a text description
- Zoom switched off, and tap targets too small to hit
- Page language and heading structure
- Overlay widgets, which don't make a site compliant
Reading the result
- Fails
- Criteria the page breaks in a way a machine can prove. Each one comes with who can fix it: a content editor, a developer, or only a rebuild.
- Needs a human check
- Criteria no tool can judge, such as whether image descriptions are accurate or a form works with a keyboard alone.
- Passed
- Criteria the automated checks found no problem with on this page. Other pages can still fail them.

What the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are, what changed in version 2.2, and the checks that matter most for a small-business site.
The other free checks: wordpress vulnerability checker, security headers checker, php version checker and website speed test. Or run the full scan, which does all five at once.
